Petition: Protect Welsh place names

Happy Donkey Hill

HAPPY DONKEY HILL? NAMELESS CWM? DIM DIOLCH.

We believe that Welsh place names are beautiful and we should be doing all we can to protect our living language.

We stand for Cwm Cneifion. We stand for Faerdre Fach. We stand for not cheapening our own culture for the ease of tourists because too many of our place names have already been lost.

We call on Gwynedd Council to take action locally by significantly increasing the fee for renaming a property (currently just £55), until national legislation is introduced in the Welsh Parliament to protect historic Welsh place names.

We will not stand by while Welsh place names are lost at a bargain basement price. We can take action now and we must take action now.
